MANILA, Philippines - The Tourism Congress has urged the terminated employees of flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) to immediately stop protest actions so as not to scare foreign tourists away.
The association of private tourism firms yesterday said the PAL Employees Association (PALEA) should consider public interest and comply with the decision of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that upheld the legality of the outsourcing program.
“We strongly urge the PALEA to observe the rule of law and comply with lawful decisions rendered by the Department of Labor and Employment, the Office of the President, and the Court of Appeals aimed at upholding the public interest,” Tourism Congress said in a statement. – Mayen Jaymalin, Rudy Santos, Jose Rodel Clapano
