Takeoffs
THE Department of Tourism joins hands with Qantas and the private sector in the promotion of Philippine pilgrimage tourism in Australia.
The private sector and the DOT mission will proceed to four cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane – for a series of sales presentations to the Australia tour wholesalers and operators, and to Filipino-Australia Associations starting September 7, 1998.
There are limitless opportunities for Filipinos and the rest of the Christian world to find ways to deepen their faith. Filipinos, including those overseas, who flock to pilgrimage sites in Europe and the Middle East, can similarly be attracted to pilgrimage sites in the Philippines and Australia which also hosts devotional sites.
The DOT, through the BDTP, is taking a collaborative stance with the private and religious sectors, in the promotion and development of pilgrimage tourism in the Philippines.
Filipino-Australian associations belonging to the Marian Movement, the Servants of the Lord, Couples for Christ, and the Word Among Us, in all four cities, will receive the contingent who will present the pilgrimage tourism program movement for the Philippines.
